Change Management Component of a Microsoft Dynamics GP Project


Business Situation

  • The client is the support branch of a holding company with a number of business units that deliver new and used, medium and heavy duty trucks throughout North America
  • To support its ongoing business strategy, the client decided to replace PeopleSoft financials with Dynamics GP. 
  • The client requested The Revere Group to assist in change management for the project with activities including project visioning, communication, sponsorship, organizational impact assessment, training strategy, development and execution, and post go-live support strategy and execution.

Key Issues

  • PeopleSoft financials resided on the mainframe environment and would require a large amount of effort to move to the network client server environment. 
  • Past ERP projects were not seen as successful. The client believed that part of past implementation failure was due to not gaining the appropriate support and cooperation from the impacted stakeholders.

Outcomes

  • Dynamics GP was successfully rolled out to the client’s Purchasing and Financial/Accounting departments with the appropriate stakeholder support and cooperation gained. 
  • All change management activities and deliverables were very well received by the client executive leadership and Dynamics GP end users
