Business Situation

  • The client is an international Fortune 1000 manufacturer known for high quality fibers, plastic packaging, and engineering resins. 
  • The client maintains its leadership position by focusing on customer solutions supported by product and process innovation, while committing to the environment as one of the world’s largest plastics recyclers.
  • The client recognizes the need to pursue strategies oriented towards growth, leverage, and cost management. The Revere Group’s value stream project was a viable method of identifying key cost management and leverage opportunities, not ordinarily visible to management teams.

Key Issues

  • The process for development of the current and future value stream maps involves time consuming individual interviews, team meetings, and on-site exploration of the functional area being addressed.

Outcomes

  • Once practical and reasonable value stream maps were defined and approved, the functional team leaders developed execution plans, which were utilized in the implementation of the new value stream maps.
  • The duration of the actual execution was determined by the established execution plans. Each individual execution plan took did not exceed 12 weeks.
  • The project finished on time and on budget.
