Business Situation

  • The client is a medium-sized privately held pharmaceutical company that provides complex intravenous admixture services to hospital pharmacies.
  • The client needed to produce 20 standard reports along with several ad-hoc reports for the sales managers and staff.  Since the reports needed to be deployed to non-technical employees, they had to be available in a familiar format and application.

Key Issues

  • After converting from JD Edwards to Microsoft Dynamics GP, the client needed to implement a sales analytics and reporting application.
  • The client also needed to define a budgeting and commitment tracking process to be used in the reporting application.

Outcomes

  • All of the critical success factors were achieved; Microsoft Analysis Server allows the client to generate 20 standard reports for their sales staff using Microsoft Excel PTS.
  • The commitments tracking procedure will allow the client to measure their customer’s response time for the pledge of new sales.
