Analytics and Collaboration Success Story
Consolidating Client Information for Fortune 500 Bank
Business Situation
- The client has a worldwide presence in banking, investment and trust services for businesses and financial institutions and is considered a leading personal trust manager
- In order to facilitate advanced relationship management functions, an Operational Data Store (ODS) was needed to provide a central profile of a client’s complete relationship with the bank
Key Issues
- Customer and account information was dispersed among numerous operational systems, causing problems in account maintenance
- Simple processes, such as customer address or telephone changes, were applied to only some of the bank’s many operational systems
- Cross-selling opportunities were lost because of the expense in matching customers across various operational systems
Outcomes
- The project was the bank’s third attempt to integrate data from its legacy systems. The Revere Group provided an architectural structure and the technical expertise necessary to bring the client’s intentions to fruition
- Armed with commercial ETL software tool designed specifically for this type of project, The Revere Group developed and implemented extraction and population programs with required transformation logic
- The project team also included data-cleansing tools used to standardized name and address data, identified duplicate client records and created demographic groupings
