Global
competition is driving manufacturers, distributors and retailers to reduce
costs and eliminate waste from every process and product. Lean manufacturing is
a process improvement method focused on reducing waste, whereas Six Sigma is a
process improvement method focused on reducing process variation.
Applying
each method in isolation has limitations. For instance, Six Sigma can avoid
defects, which reduces cost, but it does not address optimal process flow. The Revere
Group has found that these two methods are best applied in tandem with Six
Sigma providing the quality and Lean adding the speed. Revere applies these methods to help our clients
design and implement efficient and effective processes.
