In an open and confidential environment, you will have the opportunity to network and trouble shoot business problems unique to PMOs with members who have developed a high level of trust and who regularly encounters similar PMO issues. Members are encouraged to share their PMO experiences, projects, management challenges, and visions of future trends and issues, or ask for support from fellow practitioners in evolving PMOs.

Format

The PMO SIG meets bi-monthly for a two-hour session (3:30 PM – 5:30 PM) at pre-designated host site. Meetings consist of peer review, open sharing and discussion of industry issues, profit opportunities and business building strategies. Past SIG discussion topics have included:

  • Tying back scorecards through to business value during strategic planning and post-implementation
  • Different types of PMO structures (internal and operational)
  • Project Prioritization and Measurement
  • Status Reporting Criteria and Prioritization: How to accurately define “Red, Yellow, and Green” projects
  • PMO tools from a project/program/portfolio management aspect. What tools are members currently using and what works and what does not work?

The Chicago PMO SIG has two member co-chairs and one meeting facilitator:
