Revere Implements Sitecore to Give Client Flexibility and Scalability
Chicago, IL – August 26, 2009 – The Urban Land Institute (ULI), a worldwide nonprofit education and research institute, recently chose The Revere Group, an NTT DATA Company, to design, architect and deliver a Content Management System (CSM) to improve its online presence and meet the growing information needs of its members. Together, ULI and Revere chose Sitecore CMS because its flexibility and scalability would allow ULI to better leverage its content to improve the customer experience.
With 40,000 members worldwide, the ULI site serves as a place for members to search, meet, communicate, and find information. ULI wanted to increase affinity of new members toward the association, maintain and strengthen the close-knit community of its members, and eventually replace its membership system without disrupting system functionality. ULI also wanted to improve the member experience on the site—members weren’t happy that old site, managed with a less robust CMS, wasn’t keeping up with technology. They weren’t able to have personal profiles, had difficulty navigating the site and found the search engine less than functional.
To help ULI improve the member experience, The Revere Group implemented Sitcore and Endeca. The project included:
- Site integration with the ULI membership database
- Custom member landing pages
- Enhanced search
- Content import tool
- Site design

The implementation of Sitecore by The Revere Group has been a success. The design of the new site is much more elegant and sophisticated, and the user experience has dramatically improved. Says Revere’s Powell, “Editors are able to successfully interact and update content on the site without help. And members can manage their own profiles and preferences. The total user engagement has been highly successful.”
In addition to improving the member experience, since the completion of the Sitecore implementation, 20 regional ULI offices around the world are also using Sitecore to manage content.
