Sitecore CMS Delivers Functionality, Efficiency to Central DuPage Hospital’s Redesigned Website

Central DuPage Hospital (CDH) is a nationally recognized 313-bed facility located in suburban Chicago. CDH is a leading center for medical technology and one of the busiest surgical hospitals in Illinois. As the hospital looked to strengthen its online presence, a key part of the project would be selecting a content management system (CMS) that would maximize the efficiency of building, maintaining, and updating the new site.

The Revere Group was brought in to lead the front-end and back-end renovation of CDH.org. Based on an extensive understanding of the hospital’s branding, operational, and IT needs, Revere selected Sitecore CMS as the tool best-equipped to provide the necessary flexibility and quality assurance. With Sitecore in place, Revere built a robust, intuitive site that incorporates CDH’s new design elements. Revere also migrated 5,000 pages of existing content onto the new CMS platform and seamlessly incorporated this content into the new interface designs. The Sitecore CMS was then customized to support and further enhance the new site’s functionality.

Consumer Integrated Health Roadmap

Like many not-for-profit organizations, the AHRC, one of New York City’s largest providers of services to developmentally disabled individuals, faced the daunting challenge of trying to create a centralized database that provides useful information about the organization’s clients and members. This challenge was magnified because the AHRC’s diverse service offerings had resulted in a collection of mismatched record-keeping systems. Previous attempts to integrate these systems had been frustrated by non-standard business processes and a lack of commonly defined data.

The AHRC brought in The Revere Group to create a roadmap for transforming the organization’s disparate systems into a centralized database that delivers the right information to the right people at the right time. Based on the AHRC’s need for enhanced sharing of consistent, accurate consumer data, Revere mapped out a three-year strategy for achieving the organization’s information-technology needs, including the development of a central information repository.

eHealth Roadmap Allows Information Sharing Across Diversified Healthcare System

Throughout the course of developing its Web presence, a Central Florida hospital and healthcare system had developed multiple Web sites and portals. The development of these sites lacked cohesive design standards and governance procedures. The hospital needed a comprehensive Web strategy and improved information-sharing capabilities across the organization.

The Revere Group was brought in to define the requirements for an enterprise portal strategy; once implemented, the strategy would allow important information to be shared throughout the organization resulting in an improved experience for patients and doctors, as well as revenue growth for the hospital. By drawing upon its vast experience in the healthcare industry, Revere was able to deliver a comprehensive Web strategy and a roadmap for accomplishing the information-sharing goals. The roadmap also allowed for integrating Web 2.0 capabilities in the hospital’s existing transaction systems.

Improved Time & Attendance Reporting System Helps Extendicare Manage Hourly Workforce

With oversight of hundreds of long-term-care facilities across North America, Extendicare Health Services manages about 25,000 employees, most of who are paid on an hourly basis. To support payroll operations and key labor reporting, the company required an upgrade of both time-clock hardware and application software from their previous outdated and unsupported version of Kronos.

The Revere Group was retained to design a customized solution and manage the implementation and testing of the new time and attendance system. The Revere team configured more than 1,000 pay rules and developed and tested 21 different interfaces. The project resulted in the on-time and on-budget deployment of hardware, software, training procedures, and operational processes across all of Extendicare’s U.S. locations.

Microsoft Data Warehouse Streamlines Health Insurers Reporting Processes

A subscriber-based provider of health insurance needed to improve its ability to gather critical information and distribute this information throughout the organization and its network of partner hospitals and clinics across the country. The organization’s current data warehouse could not provide timely reports for claims, customer enrollment and retention, lab data, provider data, and financials.

The Revere Group was retained to design and implement an enterprise-level data warehouse to help the organization streamline its operations. The Revere team created an integrated solution using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and Business Objects XI to provide user-friendly and near real-time reporting capabilities. The new system was able to automate the creation of a monthly “Health Plan Economics” report for senior management; previously, the delivery of this report required three employees and up to 90 work hours.

Hospital's ehealth Roadmap Enhances Patient Experience

A large hospital and integrated health delivery system maintains multiple websites, which were not integrated. The organization lacked an overarching Web strategy, resulting in a lack of collaboration among the internal Web developers and disjointed Web sites that failed to reflect the hospital’s impressive achievements in the healthcare industry.

The Revere Group was retained to develop an eHealth Roadmap to help the organization develop an interactive, advanced, and engaging Web presence consistent with the hospital’s advanced IT capabilities. By defining a common vision and set of goals across the hospital’s disparate departments, Revere was able to create an eHealth roadmap that will result in an improved patient experience. The initiative identified large cost-saving opportunities and empowered the hospital’s executives to consider the eHealth implications of their strategic and tactical decisions.
